Wow, thanks so much for posting these hard to find songs! I had only heard 1 or 2 of them before. It is too bad Takayo's music career didn't take off. I think the problem is that she's best at the type of music that isn't memorable until you hear it done poorly by someone else. Only then can you appreciate her technical skill and perfect pitch and control. Her songs aren't the type that a non-talented singer could gloss over with power, or speed, or a carefully constructed public personality. When I listened to the Sandy Beach songs, I was transported to... a sandy beach! It was like I was at some little outdoor shack on the beach selling simple seafood and drinks. I was enjoying conversation with friends while sipping a margarita, or some sort of mango drink with an umbrella in it, and there was this amazing singer there providing the perfect background music to fit the mellow, relaxing mood. The sun gradually went down, and we just continued to enjoy the atmosphere and music as the restaurant staff lit torches.
Her blog is down now right? I hope she at least has a small but loyal group of fans who follow her around Sapporo from one small venue to the next. Is she even performing now?
Oh, BTW, for people like me who don't have an imeem account, use this shortened link to get to TheFrustrated's page. You can't use playlists, but you can play one song at a time.
