Man, that's really bad. I really hope that Tattsu is ok. That's the absolute most important thing. Like somebody said, this could open up some new doors. Miyu nor Tomoka are really active as far as music goes but that could change.

I'm sure that something good will come out of this

Like the Dacrow said, we gotta be patient..

Wow, stunning news!!

And not just a 4/3/2010  date.....but with a farewell concert in Tokyo as well.
5 years and 2 days, almost an exact 1/2 decade from Final Live. It will have to
be hard to get through for Maiko.
I'm not good w/ Japanese...but does the ad say $65 w/ a drink ??

As to how active any of the girls are, do we really know ? I take it when they
play small or local places we don't hear about it. Frustrated or Revsfan....when
you were in Japan did you hear either way ( playing clubs or not) or any rumors ?
Even some of the biggies, between major bands played the local clubs for a few years
to experiment with styles  and find new directions.

Could there be a magazine article on the subject in the near future ? I quess only
time will tell there.

Again, stunning news.

The girls are all okay... and Tattsu's health is okay, too. I posted a few details in the other MARIA disband post...

I really hope that their Final Live is their best concert ever.

I really hope the girls keep going with careers in music, so that we can all see more of them.

I really hope that Reina plays more violin. It suits her so well. I've felt that way ever since the PV for "Tsubomi" came out.

It goes without saying, that I really hope to see more of Maiko. What good fan wouldn't?

I really hope that Aika gets a great solo career. I think she could be really good with that.

I really hope that Sacchin gets into a heavier kind of band. She could be really good with that.

Of course, I hope that Tattsu has a good path in life. She sure deserves it.

Most of all, though... I really hope that MARIA was only the beginning of many good things yet to come from Ayuka. She is one heck of a good guitarist, has a great image, and deserves her own place in the sun.

The only gigs I knew of were from the RunTime calendar that I checked out leading up to my trip.  MARIA was still active, and had a few small shows in various parts of Hokkaido from April to July if I remember correctly.  But as for rumors or "the word on the street" I didn't hear anything.  True, I can't understand that much Japanese, but everytime I told someone I was a ZONE fan from America, the topic of live shows never came up.  Some people were surprised and amused, one lady mentioned that Miyu had her album out, but nobody said there was still a way to see any of the members perform.  I feel like if that was common knowledge, then one of the people would have shared that sort of information with me.

I'm with DaCrow and Frustrated and probably several others when I say I'm hoping ZONE will return and have something good come out of this sad news for MARIA.

My favorite MARIA singlecover out of all of their albums  Grin. I am so happy that I owned the album. I like Sayonara Daisuki na Hito over almost all of their songs.

I haven't heard anything either...But I did come across people who knew about them. People are still rocking Secret Base in their ipods (trust me on that). Sometimes Tomoka, Miyu, or Maria would perform in Tokyo, I believe. Right now, I can't say much about what's going to happen but let's just hope for their happiness and hope that if they decide continue their music careers, let's make sure we show them our support.

Ah, kittiekei, you beat me to the punch...! Relieved

Yes, MARIA actually has 2 "Last Events."  The one on Aril 3rd is their Final Live in Tokyo, and the one on April 17th is their "Final Party."

The following is some of what I posted at Hello! Online earlier:

It's called [MARIA Last Event~FINAL*PARTY*NIGHT~].
Currently scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 17 at the Sapporo Penny Lane 24.  Opens at 5:00PM and starts at 6:00PM.
Tickets, if anyone's interested, are 5,500 yen.

Interestingly, a present from the members  74 , a handshaking event  02, and a performance 56 is included!!

I wonder if there'll be a video of this performance....
Ideally, a double disc DVD or a Blu-Ray with the Final Live on the 3rd & the Party on the 17th....

Ah...I wish.... 03

People really need to notice what Soul of ZONE posted up there! It's the best MARIA news!

I looked at the cdjapan site, and the English description of MARIA'S NEW BOX SET RELEASE wasn't very good. So I switched the language to Japanese and used Google to translate:

3 CD + 2 DVD box set release from MARIA. The CDs featuring two original albums. The DVD features music videos, her last performance at Akasaka BLITZ on April 4, 2010, and more. Also includes a photobook.

April 3, 2010 announced the dissolution in Akasaka BLITZ MARIA packed with live music all four years of the locus of activity, including the dissolution of CD3 live photos, DVD2 Complete sheet of BOX. Two CD album is a collection of songs recorded delivery only coupling +. DVD. The DVD also includes music video clips unpublished, will be recorded completely live and dissolution. Additionally live album documents the dissolution Furthermore, a Memorial fan BOX.

Okay, it's Google translation, but I think the message looks pretty clear. MARIA's giving fans a GREAT final release. And the only thing to be sad about is the price. $150 US. That's REALLY expensive. Of course, if we start saving now... but then again, I already have all of their other releases... this is a hard decision!

I probably won't have to think about it too hard if the original PV for Tsubomi is included, and if their farewell concert is on DVD with this collection instead of just on CD. Maybe I'm being picky, though. For us fans, it's a question of parting with big money. But when you think about it, it's a small price to pay for a retrospective of the last four years of the girls' lives.
