From So Many Paths...
« on: January 30, 2010, 01:23:35 am »

The other night, I was listening to ZONE songs, and it occurred to me... many of their fans came to know them from different songs. I mean, peoples' first time listening to them... that moment when you knew you were hooked... for some fans, that was Akashi. For others, it was Shiroi Hana... some came to know them beginning with Secret Base, of course... and some from Sotsugyou... and wherever they began, we all wound up in the same place: Loving the girls and ALL of their songs... their concerts... their appearances... everything about them.

Well they're just that lovable of a band then, aren't they???

Yep! Most people enter ZONE fanhood via Secret Base, as you know. But this reminds me of something that happened while in Japan. Sorry if it's a little bit off-topic.

My girlfriend and her friend from Shikoku and I were riding the train in Tokyo and her friend noticed a strange picture on my shirt peeking out from the top of my jacket. After I showed her what it was she started to laugh. My girlfriend told her it was a member from the band ZONE. She didn't know who they were at first until my girlfriend told her about Secret Base. Her face lit up as she realized who they were. So she handed my her ipod and allowed me to listen to Secret Base.

It was just good to know that they still have a presence. Smiley

I was on YouTube looking for Morning Museme stuff when I found ZONE.
The Good Days video kept comming up as part of my search. After ignoring it about 60 times I finally watched it.
The rest is history.

It was like you were meant to watch it.

I first heard Secret Base via live 365. Too bad live 365 has imposed limitations to listers. It all used to be completely free and I don't recall having to have a membership.

After I listened to TSUBOMI on a music play list on a user's blog profile, I wanted to hear more and saw SECRET BASE and Egao Biyori on the list. When I listened to those two songs, I became a huge fan ever since. Unfortunately, I founded out that they are disbanded. I knew who Maiko and Miyu was before I found out about ZONE, but I never researched their background fully and I was amazed both of them were in the same band together during their youth days. I was bummed that Mizuho is now retired from the music scene and Tomoka being inactive with her solo career. She came back but I never really see anything released ever since her comeback in 2008.
