I just found two rare videos that are impressive
They played Beatles classic: GIRL and TELL ME WHY
Which tour were they performing??

In the video TELL MY WHY you will see mizuho using a special jazz drum sticks..like a brush

goodpan,

it wasn't a ZONE tour, but some kind of john lennon festival organized by yoko ono i think.

and about that backing track discussion from a few posts back, here are my observations from the final live:

1. some songs clearly had instruments that were not being played by the girls.  example: shiroi hana has electric guitar, but miyu is just singing and tomoka is on an acoustic.  there had to have been either a backing track or backup band behind the stage for the electric guitar parts.
2. there's a clip on the final live DVD of mizuho rehearsing "kuuso to genjitsu no yoake."  is she playing along to some kind of track?  i only remember hearing her drums, not her drums over another set of drums.  but i also think i remember hearing some other background instruments, and nobody else was rehearsing at the time.
3. some songs i think are 100% live.  i played along with the live version of "for tomorrow" and the length of the song is way different compared to the studio version.  i also think that the timing throughout the song is inconsistent, like as the girls got more excited the faster they played.  you can't change tempo like that if you're following a backing track.  it would be possible to go faster and slower with a backup band behind stage adjusting with you, but i don't think that song required any instruments other than what we saw being played.

I think that some of the background tracks that you heard during rehearsal were for training purposes only--as if Mizu was just practicing her drum line while the others did what they needed to do. And of course, since there are only four girls, they can only play one instrument each. Also, have you noticed there being TWO acoustic guitars in Yume no Kakera. You have to listen real closely. Tomoka is playing one while the other is playing in the background. It's not throughout the whole song, though. I only noticed when I saw Tomoka playing something different then what's in the foreground. I realized that there were actually two guitars. You can see this right after the first chorus and before the bridge.

You can see it from about 1:53

Wow, that's interesting, TheFrustrated....

I never noticed Tomoka playing something different.... Shocked

Well, I guess that shows that there were indeed "extra instruments" played during the Final Live.
There's no denying that the girls played their own instruments during the live, as they sound different from the studio versions....

So, I wonder if these extra instruments were played over the Budokan's speaker system as a background track that also contained the intro to Salaryman and Takayo's voice for Kusou to Genjitsu no Yoake.... Huh?

I don't remember there being anything else to cover for the intro of Sarariiman or Takayo's voice in Kuusou. I started to pay a lot more attention to the DVD after I noticed that part in Yume no Kakera. Cheesy
