Your computer is probably set up to do a virus or malware scan first before opening the file. This is a good thing although annoying.
My computer will do it for files it deems questionable. I've just installed some 'intrusion detection' programs into one of my computers.
It isn't noticeable until I get a message that it tracked something down, cornered it and wanted to know if I wanted to vaporize it. I was
very impressed, I tried to track down that bugger for 3 weeks and this program nailed it the next day when it tried to make a move. It was
a worm that I let into my harddrive after visiting some highly dubious sites that I ignored my WOT warning on. Nothing worse than a worm.
It would hide on my disc and then would start growing my log files till it filled and froze up the partition it was on. I would remove the OS
and it would come back after the new OS was running for 12-15 hours or so. Finally I put on Fedora and used some of the advanced security
programs they have to track it down and kill it. Thought I was going to have to run a scrub program on the whole 320GBs for awhile. Would
have taken me days to do a total 16X complete overwrite of all 320gb. Fortunately worms usually stay confined to one partition, so if you
have 3 or four partitions on your drive you can usually save most of the drive. I use 2 primary OS-root partitions and a larger file storage
partition, then a 2nd drive for a major file storage (music files). or a widows drive ( a triple boot) just to always have one winxp around
for that special program now and then that will only run on windows. Right now I tend to use 'Ubuntu', 'Mint' and the Japanese 'Vine'.
The Vine OS is cool....no DRM....no region setting.....play anything from anywhere......and it directs you to youtube.jp, fender.jp etc,
etc. you have to write in youtube.us as default but gives you access to so many jp sites it's crazy. Vine means ..grapevine...soooo...
everything is purple based, I thought I would have to change everything but it's so well done I like it.

This is starting to be a computer class so I better say goodnight now.
Kordakh.....when you surf the web.....use Firefox....add adblock plus and WOT......listen to WOT warnings.....really.!!
I don't sometimes just to try to get in trouble...to test security and learn to fix the trouble. People who use my Linux systems rely on
my misfortune so I can know how protect them.
And folks, if want to know more just ask.
But if it's too much information just tell me, I can take it.
